___ Voice Calls enabled for Dial 1 for voice.

___ Message waiting (ONLY) turned on for voice mail - no code for message registration. CM 200 *9 -040 #9 -041

___ Program in remote maintenance modem FIRST THING and never change that extension number

___ Delete codes for features not being used. (Message Registration etc.)

___ Voice mail button access by single digit station number. CM 200-1-801 CM 210-1-801

___ Verify LCR with 911 and 9911

___ Check timer for calls dialed out and answered quickly to make sure both voice paths there. Pseudo Answer timer 41-003. Set to 1

___ Call forwarding No Answer timer down to 20 seconds if voice mail. Set station recall (after blind transfer) timer to 45 seconds. Voice mail set to 4 rings. Should use supervised transfer. 410-15=05; 410-07-12

___ Voice mail recall - CM08 333 set to 0 to send digits on a recall no answer.

___ Shorten hook flash timing for single line phones from the default. This is to prevent callers from setting up trunk to trunk accidentally and tieing up trunks. Timer 41-2-17. Restrict trunk to trunk connection unless DISA??.

___ Set Music on Hold to be either tune or External. Not busy signal.

CM 480 DE=00=1400 DE 01=1400 DE 02=1400 Note: On CP03, set JP 1 to Down position.

___ If voice mail in this building, check CM08-146 which does an automatic camp-on if busy. Shut off.

___ If voice mail, check CH08-147 which allows a hook flash from a sl phone then camps on. (VM does this to recall, so shut off if voice mail in this building)

___ If no SMDR, set SMDR timer to 0 to eliminate echo on T-1 calling out or "Can't hear the other party first 6-8 seconds" CM410-03 Set to 0

____ If voice mail exists, set up ACD group. Main number MUST NOT be a voice mail port. Must be a virtual or phantom as must always be busy so you can't set call forwarding and actually get this port. VM will transfer a call to a phone that has set CF to that port and let it ring.

____ Set up CO Disconnect Recognition shorter than default to avoid problems with lines not disconnecting. CM 41-2-03 set to 2 which is 256 milliseconds instead of 512.

_____ Change 40-09 so we can dial into the modem and do a remote backup. Set Port 1=0

_____ Enable Group Listening.

_____ Change Message Waiting lights to flash instead of steady CM 08-294 to 0.

_____ Turn on Fault Collection and set up a traffic report for 24 hours starting day after cut.

_____Dial into the modem in the office and back up the data before taking the system out of the shop.
