Customer Need: Government Housing project with 110 apartments - wanted intercom and security with only 1 phone in the apartment.
Comment: The 2000 is capable of doing private lines from a single line phone. Most other systems cannot do this with 100's of phones. If they have a residential line, they can dial 9 to get to it. Door company added electric strike. We added Ceeco Metal phone and Viking Door release. Disconnected # key on Ceeco phone in the entry way so visitor couldn't open door from entry-way phone. Inside the apartment they press # to unlock the door. Warning: LEC Caller ID doesn't pass through the switch (typical). We had spare wires so we wired the outside line straight to their device. Needed to use voice mail cards where they have answering machines to get the disconnect. LEC Call Waiting can be used. Set up a simple code to activate an external hookflash to the LEC.
