FEATURES NORMALLY PROVIDED WITH THE NEAX 2000 IPS PHONE SYSTEM

3800 Software (R13) – December, 2006

 

ACCOUNT CODE.  The SMDS (Station Message Detail Service) provides call records plus show account codes used when dialing a call for billing purposes.  May require additional hardware depending on external voice mail integration or other services in use.

 

ADD-ON MODULE.  You can add a module for direct access to up to 24 additional outside trunks for use as a small console.  Series 3500 software adds Series I Desi-less Add on Module with LCD.

 

ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY.  The series I display phones are equipped with a 3-line, 24 character display for clock, user name, and call processing information.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT SERVICE.  This feature provides a pre-recorded announcement (up to 60 seconds each) for applications such as a company bulletin board to the station user that dials the access code.  Two announcements included in newer CPU’s.

 

ANALOG PORT ADAPTER.  We can add an adapter to your display phone so you can have an analog extension for a cordless phone, fax, or modem.  This unit can be set up to share your existing extension or have a different extension number (dual mode if 1200 software). 

 

ANALOG STATION CALLER ID.  (2200 software).  This feature passes caller ID information to standard analog devices and phones.  Additional hardware required.

 

ANSWER KEY.  Press the answer key on your multi-line phone to answer a second call when you hear a call waiting tone.

 

ATTENDANT CALL ANNOUNCE.  The attendant can dial an extension number, then dial a 1 to voice announce to dterm i multi-line phones.

 

ATTENDANT CAMP-ON WITH TONE.  This is similar to call waiting. You will hear a tone in your ear if the attendant has another call for you.  (Your policy will decide if you want calls camped on or not.)

 

ATTENDANT CAMP-ON WITH TONE - CCIS.  A 2000 console can camp on a call to a remote 1400, 2000 or 2400.  Requires optional CCIS software.

 

ATTENDANT CONSOLE.  The NEC 2000 has a console that features a display screen to tell the attendant the source of each call and many other call processing indications.  A separate busy lamp field with DSS buttons for one-button transfer can be installed as well.

 

ATTENDANT LOCKOUT.  This feature can be set up to prohibit the operator from going into a conversation once the party has answered.

 

ATTENDANT LOOP RELEASE.  This feature allows the operator to become available for another call as soon as the attendant has directed a call to a station, rather than having to wait for the party to answer. 

 

ATTENDANT NIGHT TRANSFER.  Calls can be diverted to preassigned phones or night bells for incoming night calls.

 

ATTENDANT OVERFLOW TO BUILT-IN AUTOMATED ATTENDANT.  Calls not answered at the main console after a predetermined period can be routed to an optional built-in automated attendant to give the caller options to dial an extension direct, a night bell, or dial 0 for the operator.

 

ATTENDANT OVERRIDE.  This feature, if turned on, would allow an operator to enter an existing conversation (with a warning tone) for an emergency call.

 

ATTENDANT REMOTE HOLD.  (2100 Software)  Allows the console to transfer a call to an extension and press the Hold button, putting the call on hold at that extension to the call is not ringing.  The user can pick up the call or use Direct Call Pickup to retrieve from any phone.

 

ATTENDANT SEMI-AUTOMATIC CAMP-ON.     (3400 Software).  This feature allows a console operator to camp on a call to a busy phone, and have the call ring back for announcing once the station is free.

 

AUDIBLE INDICATION CONTROL.  This feature allows the attendant to adjust the sound of the console alert tones.

 

AUTHORIZATION CODE.  You can make long distance calls at a restricted phone by dialing an authorization code.  1000 codes come standard (Series 2000), additional codes available with an optional expanded memory card.

 

AUTOMATED ATTENDANT.  This feature allows the system to automatically answer an incoming call on outside standard CO trunks.  The calling party can dial the extension they want, or go to the operator for handling.  Callers doing nothing will be automatically routed to the attendant in 15 seconds.

 

AUTOMATIC CALL DISTRIBUTION.  ACD hunting is a standard feature.  Both single line and multi-line phones can be used for ACD hunting, but the multi-line phones offer features such as call waiting lights, log-on indication etc.  Music on hold or delay announcements while callers are in queue may require an optional digital announcement trunk card.  Two announcement trunks are standard.  An optional software package allows you to view incoming telephone calls being taken by your sales staff.  Statistics are available real time and colors change on the screen to warn you of calls stacking up.  An optional wall board can be added to display current statistics.  Many reports show number of calls answered etc.  Both single line and multi-line phones can be monitored.  (Series 3500 adds Soft Phone with ACD)

 

AUTOMATIC HOLD FEATURE.  If this feature is activated for your phone, while in conversation on a line key, you can push another ringing line key directly and that places the first call on hold automatically.

 

AUTOMATIC IDLE RETURN.  This feature causes a Dterm phone to become idle automatically after a caller has hung up.

 

AUTOMATIC NUMBER IDENTIFICATION (ANI).  (1300 Software required)  We can collect Caller-ID numbers on incoming calls via your 800# on a T-1 or on an ISDN-PRI for local calls.  With 1700 software, we can pass ANI to your voice mail, which will then pass it to the desktop,  (Series 2100 software)  1000 names can be entered that will pop up when a call comes in from that number.  Note that ANI requires Feature Group D trunks with MF signaling for incoming.

 

AUTOMATIC LOGIN TO HOME STATION NUMBER. (3700 Software required).  IP phone can be used by another person by logging in, but when they log out, it automatically logs into the default number.

 

AUTOMATIC RECALL.  A timed reminder sends calls back to the switchboard that are placed on hold, or never answered.

 

AUTOMATIC WAKE-UP.   This feature allows the system to be programmed from the front desk phones to automatically call guest rooms at a specified time.   As an option, the guest can hear an announcement or music.  An optional front desk printer can print out wake up attempts (1-5 attempts).  Up to 32 rooms can be called at

 

BACKGROUND MUSIC.  You can have background music come through the speakers of your multi-line dterm i sets.  Requires music source and a trunk port or TNT card.  Up to 10 music programs.

 

BATTERY BACK-UP.  The 2000 has a built-in rectifier to keep batteries charged.  We have included 5 year batteries to keep your NEC 2000 system will keep running for 2-3 hours even when the power is down! 

 

BOSS-SECRETARY CALL.  By using dterm i feature phones, the secretary can screen calls on the boss's extension, then press the button again to signal the boss.  Also, the secretary can set a message waiting condition while the boss is on the phone.

 

BROKER'S CALL.  This feature allows any phone to alternate between two parties, talking to one party while the other party remains on hold on the same line.

 

BUSY VERIFICATION - CCIS.  Provides the ability for an attendant at a remote system linked with a T-1 CCIS connection to interrupt a busy station across a CCIS link.

 

CALENDAR DISPLAY.  The dterm i feature phones display the current date and time.

 

CABLE MONITOR.  The NEAX 2000 IPS will monitor your station wiring to test for shorts or an open.

 

CALL BACK.  If you reach a busy station, you can dial a code and the phone will ring you as soon as they hang up.

 

CALL FORWARDING-ALL CALLS.  This feature sends all your calls to another location.

 

CALL FORWARDING-BUSY LINE.  You can forward your calls to another station when you're on the phone.

 

CALL FORWARDING-DON'T ANSWER.  This feature forwards your calls to another station if you don't answer in 30 seconds (adjustable)  (Series 3200, R6.2) You can adjust timer on a per station basis.

 

CALL FORWARDING-GROUP DIVERSION.  You can send any call not answered in a group to a specified station.

 

CALL FORWARDING-MULTIPLE.  You can make up to five hops using call forwarding.

 

CALL FORWARDING - OUTSIDE.  You can forward your calls to your home or car phone.  We can even check toll restriction at that phone!  If you have an ISDN-PRI at the office, you will get the caller ID of your office phone.

 

CALL FORWARDING-OVERRIDE.  A target station can call a station that set call forwarding.

 

CALL FORWARDING – REMOTE CHANGE.  (Series 2100).  With this feature, you can call back into the phone system and change your call forwarding setup by remote.

 

CALL FORWARDING - SPLIT.  The feature allows internal calls to get a busy tone and external calls to be rerouted to a different destination.

 

CALL FORWARDING-WIRELESS OUT OF ZONE.  (3200 software)  This feature allows a wireless phone the ability to set up a destination to automatically forward their calls if they leave the building and take their PS with them.

 

CALL HOLD.  You can place calls on hold by dialing a code from your single line phone, or pressing the Hold button on your multi-line phone.

 

CALL PARK.  You can park a call for retrieval when you get back to your desk. If you forget, a timer will bring the call back to the last phone you were at!

 

CALL PICKUP-GROUP.  You can answer a phone ringing in your department by dialing a one or two digit code.  Unlimited number of groups, up to 60 in a group.

 

CALL PICKUP-DESIGNATED GROUP.  Want to answer a different group?  Access a designated group of phones.

 

CALL PICKUP-DIRECT.  You can answer a phone ringing outside of your group.  If you know your phone is ringing, you can dial a code and answer it from the nearest phone.

 

CALL PROCESSING INDICATION.  The attendant console displays the status of calls being handled.

 

CALL QUEUING.  Calls coming in to the attendant are handled in the order of their arrival.

 

CALL TRANSFER - ALL CALLS.  Any call can be transferred to any other phone in the system.  If the call is not answered, it will return automatically.

 

CALL WAITING.  The attendant can camp on a call to a busy line.  You will hear a tone to indicate an important call is waiting.  You can put the first call on hold, or merely terminate the first call and your new call will ring through.

 

CALLER ID (Optional Hardware Required)  You can get Caller ID via regular phone lines, ANI Caller ID on your T-1 for incoming 800 calls,  or use an ISDN PRI and Caller ID is typically included from the phone company.  With 3800 software, you can have both name and number display on the screen.

 

CALLER REDIRECT.  You can use a Caller Redirect key on your digital phone to transfer the caller to voice mail prior to answering.  Caller ID can tell you who’s calling before you send them to voice mail!

 

CALL WAITING INDICATION.  The attendant console indicates when a second call is ringing into the system.

 

CALL WAITING-ORIGINATE.  Selected stations can be given the option of camping on calls to a busy internal station.

 

CALLED STATION STATUS DISPLAY.  When you call from one dterm i phone to another, you will see what the status of that phone is on your screen.

 

CALLER ID - ANALOG.  (Optional) (1500 software required).  You can collect Caller ID information on local lines.  The phone number shows up on the screen and follows when the call is transferred.

 

CALLER ID CALL BACK. (2300 software).  Store up to 24 incoming call numbers.  Use softkeys on a digital display phone to search and call back.

 

CALLING NUMBER DISPLAY.  The attendant and dterm i phones can see the extension number of the person calling them!

 

CAMP-ON.  The feature provides selected stations with the ability to camp-on a call being transferred to a busy station and drop out.

 

CCIS.  (Optional) We can connect multiple NEC 2000, 1400 or 2400 systems using T-1 digital trunking to build a transparent network, that is, calling features will be transparent to the user across systems.  You can set automatic callback, make voice calls etc. almost like all of the phones in the network are in the same building. 

 

CCIS OVER IP.  (Optional-Series 2200 software)   We can connect newer 2000 and 2400 systems over your IP network with all of the CCIS features above.  This gives you the ability to transfer a call to any building on the network, 3 or4 digit station dialing to any phone, the ability to transfer a call to another building (and have it transferred back if necessary!).  Centralized call accounting will keep track of calls made to/from any location and centralized voice mail allows users to forward to a single voice mail system on the network.

 

CCIS BUSY LAMP DISPLAY (Optional – Series 2300 software).  This allows you to see if a phone in another building on your CCIS network is off hook (busy).

 

CCIS LOOK AHEAD ROUTING OVER IP-CCIS.  (Series 3600) In a peer-to-peer IP-CCIS network, when the IP-PADS at the destination office are all busy, the destination office sends a message to the origination office and an outgoing call is re-routed using an alternate route such as PSTN.

 

CCIS NAME DISPLAY (Optional)  Series 1500.  Callers can see your name and number on inter-com calls between buildings.

 

CCSA ACCESS.  The 2000 can interface with a private network so that calling features can pass through the system.

 

CENTRALIZED ATTENDANT SERVICE.  You can link several NEC PBX systems in various cities and use one attendant in one city to answer for all systems.

 

CENTRALIZED VOICE MAIL (CCIS) (Requires Series 1200 CCIS software or higher at the host location).  By adding an AP-00A card (provides SMDR call data as well), you can share a voice system with other systems on your NEC CCIS network.

 

CENTRALIZED E-911.  (CCIS) (Series 2100)  This feature enables E-911 calls to be routed out another building where you might have 911 facilities to correctly identify the station placing the call, such as an ISDN-PRI circuit.  E-911 over ISDN PRI only works with certain Central Office facilities.  Check with your local telephone company to make sure.

 

CENTRALIZED SMDR. (CCIS).  Collects call data for all systems on the CCIS network, when connected to 2000 systems or 2400 systems.  Can collect internal calls as well as network calls.

 

CENTREX COMPATIBLE.  You can utilize Centrex lines as the NEC 2000 can activate the features that you need.

 

CLASS OF SERVICE - INDIVIDUAL.  We can set up classes of service (Day/Night can have different classes) to provide only the telephone access and features that you want various stations to have.

 

CONFERENCE CALLING.  Standard is up to three parties, maximum of two outside, 16 conference circuits included.  (3200 software – can have two incoming and one outgoing call).

 

CONFERENCE - 6 OR 10 PARTY.  (Hardware required)  By adding one or two multi-party conference circuits, you can have up to 5 or 9 outside callers in a conference call.  Note:  Volume levels on long distance calls will vary depending on the long distance carrier you use. 

 

CONFERENCE – 32 PARTY.  (2100 software – Hardware required).  This gives the system Group Call for internal calls and wireless phones.  With 3500 software, an alert tone is provided when a caller enters and lock out codes can be used for privacy.  With 3800 software and a 32 port conference card,  users can press two or more line keys to set up a conference call.

 

CONFIGURATION REPORT.  By using an IBM compatible PC, you can retrieve station information, including station hunting, pick-up groups etc.

 

CONSECUTIVE SPEED DIALING.  You can dial part of a chain of numbers using system or group speed dial codes, followed by DSS button speed calling for the final portion of the chain of numbers.

 

CONSULTATION HOLD - ALL CALLS.  A call can be placed on hold and another call made from a single line phone.

 

CORDLESS PHONE.  Our digital cordless can attach to your desk phone.  When you leave your office, press the switch to move the calls to your cordless phone and take the phone with you.  You can answer, transfer and hold calls on the cordless.  The digital 900 mhz phone has an extended range to cover most buildings.  A message light tells you when you have voice mail.  Also, you can add a headset to keep your hands free!

 

CUSTOMER ADMINISTRATION TERMINAL.  You can make software changes using the dterm i multi-line display phone.

 

DATA LINE SECURITY.  This feature prohibits camp-on and executive override tones that would bother data and fax transmission.

 

DATA INTERFACE - AUTOMATIC ANSWER.  Your dterm i feature phone can be set to automatically answer and give the caller access to your computer.

 

DATA PRIVACY ON DEMAND.  You can dial a code prior to making a data call to insure that you will not receive any call waiting tones.

 

DATA TRANSPARENCY.  Data calls on dterm i sets are transparent to the system and do not effect voice calls.

 

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.  Effective with 3600 software, the system can be set to automatically change clocks for daylight savings time.

 

DAY/NIGHT CLASS OF SERVICE.  You can restrict long distance calling after hours with this feature.  With Series 2100 software, the system can be set up to automatically go into night mode at a pre-determined time.

 

DELAYED HOTLINE.  (3700 Software)  Automatically routes a call to a pre-determined station if the caller fails to dial in that time frame.  Good for lobby phone.

 

DELAYED RINGING.  An outside call not answered at the designated phone can be rerouted to dterm i multi-line phone with the same line appearance.

 

DIAGNOSTICS-BUILT-IN.  The system generated fault codes, device status and alarm information that can be accessed by the Maintenance Terminal.

 

DIAL ACCESS TO ATTENDANT.  You can call the operator by dialing 0.

 

DIAL BY NAME. (Series 2000)  Use softkey on Dterm Series i phones to dial by name.

 

DIALING BACKUP.  (Series 3600)  If you activate this feature on your Dterm phone, you can dial and actually backup and replace a number if you make a mistake while dialing.  Once the number is on the screen, press speaker or lift the handset to have it go out.

 

DICTATION ACCESS.  If you have dial up dictation equipment, we can hook it up to your phone system.

 

DID NAME DISPLAY.  (2200 software)  With this feature, we can display which number or name was called on the LCD screen of your display phone.  Ideal for answering for more than one business, or setting up unique numbers to answer differently for marketing reasons.

 

DIGITAL DISPLAY.  The attendant console gets a display of the incoming trunk number or a display of the station number calling the switchboard and the restriction class.

 

DIRECT DIGITAL INTERFACE.  You can interface (T-1) directly to a long distance company for savings and/or directly to another digital PBX for high speed direct connection!  If your long distance bill is $3000 per month or higher, this might save you money!

 

DIRECT IN TERMINATION.  This feature automatically routes incoming trunks past the operator straight to a particular station line.  This means you can route incoming WATS lines straight into sales etc.

 

DIRECT INWARD DIALING (Requires special trunk cards.)  If DID trunks are available from your telephone utility, we can provide a service where selected phones can have a direct outside number. 

 

DIRECT OUTWARD DIALING.  Any station user can dial 9 to get an outside line, as long as the phone is not restricted.

 

DIRECT STATION SELECTION/BUSY LAMP FIELD.  As an option, the attendant phone or others can have a DSS/BLF for busy lamp display and one-button transfer.

 

DISA (DIRECT INWARD SYSTEM ACCESS).  You can dial directly into any phone in the system without using the operator, after dialing in an authorization code.  This is very useful after hours, or for a salesman on the road calling in.  You can also use a different code to loop into the system from home and make long distance calls.  Standard equipment provides 8 unique codes.  Additional codes require an optional memory card.  These codes can be printed on your optional SMDR print-out.

 

DISPLAY PHONE-MULTI-LANGUAGE.  Effective with 3600 software, you can have different languages on the display, selectable by phone.

 

DISTINCTIVE RINGING.  This feature provides a different ring sound for internal and outside calls.  You can have a third ring type for WATS calls, if you wish.

 

DO NOT DISTURB.  You can press the Do Not Disturb button on your dterm II to restrict any incoming calls.  The attendant console can cancel this for people that forget.  Hotel-Motel software has Room Cut-off.

 

DO NOT  DISTURB GROUP SET/RESET.  (3300 software).  We can program up certain phones (school classrooms, hotel rooms) to go into DND mode at certain times of the day or night.  Phone can dial a code to over-ride.

 

DYNAMIC DIAL PAD.  (1900 software)  By starting to dial a number or activate a feature, the phone will give you speaker dial tone and begin the call.

 

ELAPSED TIME DISPLAY.  As you place a call on a dterm i display phone, a timer reminds you of the elapsed time of the call.

 

ENHANCED 911 (E-911).  (Series 1600 software, MF sender card and dedicated trunks required).  This sends the station user’s DID telephone number to the 911 center so they know which phone made the call.  Required now for residential installations in Illinois, required for all PBX systems in June of 1999 in Illinois.

 

E-911 CONSOLE NOTIFICATION.  (2100 Software).  This feature notifies the console when a caller has dialed 911 and allows the attendant to conference into the call.

 

E-911 DTERM NOTIFICATION.  (3300 software).  This feature notifies a dterm phone that a 911 call has been placed.  We can program up a barge-in key so that your attendant phone can enter the call in progress.

 

EVENT BASED CCIS.  This feature is currently available (1800 software) between 2000 systems only, but will be added to the NEC 2400 with an ISDN-PRI.  This allows for dial up CCIS using ISDN-BRI trunks instead of dedicated T-1 circuits.  Ideal for locations far away or with low inter-building traffic, but want centralized voice mail and a 3 or 4 digit dialing plan for all locations. 

 

EXECUTIVE RIGHT OF WAY.  Selected station users can bridge into another call after a warning tone is sounded.

 

EXTERNAL PAGING. You can dial a trunk access code to get to your paging system.  (3700 Software).  Adds external paging with Meet-Me over Tie Lines.

 

FAULT MESSAGES.  The CPU stores fault messages so that a technician can call in and view problems.

 

FAX ARRIVAL INDICATOR.  You can assign DID numbers for personal fax service.  The number is displayed on your digital phone.  When an incoming call arrives, it is forwarded to the fax machine.  We light the light on your phone to tell you a fax came in!

 

FEATURE ACTIVATION FROM SECONDARY EXTENSIONS.  You can set call forwarding on secondary extensions.

 

FIBER MODEM.   (2000 Software R1.5) The NEC 2000 cabinets can be connected by fiber modems if you have multiple buildings. 

 

FLASH ROM.  The NEC 2000 CPU uses Flash ROM for the generic program.  The advantage to the customer is that we can update your system via floppy disk.  No more replacing the entire CPU and other circuit boards.

 

FLEXIBLE LINE KEY ASSIGNMENT.  Multi-line stations can have assigned in different ways on each phone.

 

FLEXIBLE NUMBERING OF STATIONS.  Numbers of varying lengths can be used.  A numbering plan will be suggested for your approval.

 

FLEXIBLE RINGING.  Different line keys on different phones can be assigned ring per line per phone. With 3700 software, ringing can change based on day or night mode.

 

FORCED ACCOUNT CODE.  This feature requires that you dial a special number prior to making a long distance call at a restricted phone.

 

FX ACCESS.  Foreign Exchange trunks can be directly accessed from any phone. Incoming calls can ring at the attendant console or at designated phones.

 

GROUP CALL - AUTOMATIC CONFERENCE.    With 1900 software and one or two conference cards, you can dial to page up to 9 stations.  With 3800 software release, phones that are call forwarded All Call or in Do Not Disturb mode are not called.

 

GROUP CALL - 2 WAY CALLING.  (1900 software) The feature allows a station (Dterm, analog, or wireless) to page a maximum of 15 parties.  The first person that answers takes the call and talks.

 

GROUP CALL – PILOT NUMBER.  (2300 software).  This feature enables a station (or incoming trunk) to ring/call a group of stations (up to 32).  Once a person answers, ringing at the other phones stops.

 

GROUP FEATURE KEY (Series 3500).  Allows a secretary to push a single button to pick up the boss’s ringing line and move it to her line.  Press the button again to transfer the call to the boss.

 

GROUP LISTENING.  You can use the speaker in a dterm i or Dterm i multi-line phone so that others in the room can hear the conversation.

 

HANDS FREE ANSWERBACK. You can call to a dterm i multi-line phone and do a voice announce so the user can answer without picking up the phone!

 

HANDS FREE DIALING.  You can dial a call without picking up the handset with a dterm i speaker phone.

 

HOLD.  Calls can be put on hold on either single line or dterm i feature phones.  The feature phones can press the hold button twice and place the call on Exclusive Hold so no one else can retrieve it.

 

HOTEL/MOTEL MAID STATUS.  Maids and maintenance can dial a code in a guest room to change the status of a room. Reported on the Front Desk Printer.

 

HOTEL/MOTEL PMS INTERFACE (Optional).  Provides a connection to a locally provided Property Management System.  Depending on the PMS software capabilities, we can set/reset:  Automatic Wake-up, Check In/Out, Maid Status, Message Waiting, Call Accounting,  Guest Name Display, Room Change/Swap, Do Not Disturb, Automatic Message Waiting Lamp cancel and others.  Requires coordination with your PMS software supplier.

 

HOTEL/MOTEL ROOM CUT-OFF.  From a front desk digital phone, you can restrict phones from outgoing calls.

 

HOTEL/MOTEL ROOM STATUS.  From a front desk display phone, you check the status of a room for automatic wake-up, Do Not Disturb, Message Waiting, Room Cut-off, and Maid Status

 

HOTLINE.  This feature provides a pair of phones that will call each other once the receiver is picked up, even to locations outside the building.  This can also be used for fast access to voice mail from a multi-line set.

 

HOUSE PHONE.  A house phone can be installed so that the user merely picks up the phone handset and will be connected with your operator, auto attendant, another phone or an outside number.

 

IMMEDIATE RINGING.  This service feature causes called stations to ring immediately after dialing is completed.

 

INCOMING CALL IDENTIFICATION.  Incoming calls are identified at the switchboard by trunk group and type of service.

 

INCOMING CENTRAL OFFICE TO TIE LINE CONNECTION.  If you install a tie line, you can transfer a caller to a distant PBX through your tie lines.

 

INDIVIDUAL ATTENDANT ACCESS.  If you have more than one console, we can assign a special access number to get to an individual attendant.

 

INDIVIDUAL TRUNK ACCESS.  The attendant can directly access an individual trunk for testing purposes from the console.

 

INTEGRATED WIRELESS.  (Series 1600 software).  We can add wireless transmitters and sets and well as dterm phones in the same system.  Optional.  Requires additional hardware.

 

INTERCEPT ANNOUNCEMENT.  (Optional) DID and Tie Trunk calls to unassigned stations can receive a recording to inform the caller that a wrong number was reached.

 

INTERCOM.  You can use spare line buttons on your Dterm multi-line phones for a private intercom channel in your department.

 

INTERNAL TONE/VOICE CALLING.  Dterm multi-line speaker phones can receive ringing or voice announce on a inside call.

 

INTERNAL ZONE PAGING. You can page a group of Dterm  phones and voice announce through the speakers of phones not in use.

 

INTER-POSITION TRANSFER.  If you have more than one console, you can transfer calls back and forth between switchboards.

 

IP REMOTE PIM (3300 software).  Expands remote PIM ports so that a combined total of 1020 ports with a maximum of 512 phones, 256 analog trunks, 256 wireless phones.

 

IP STATIONS.  (3000 software).  You can plug in IP stations to your LAN/WAN and log onto the NEC 2000 and operate off premise as though you were in the main building.  We can even adjust the clock on the phone for another time zone!  With 3400 software, we can expand to handle up to 956 IP phones.

 

IP TELEPHONY.  (3000 software)  We can connect multiple (up to 255) NEC 2000 systems using IP trunking.  Typical maximum of 450 or so phones per location or over 100,000 phones possible on a network.  Our CCIS software includes transparent dialing between buildings.  Calls between buildings connect over IP using an IP address and not routing through a central switch.   Includes all CCIS features (See CCIS).

 

IP TRUNKS.  (2100 software)  You can add IP trunks that can use your data circuits to transmit voice call from one NEC PBX to another.  CCIS features are also included with this, so you can transfer calls from building to building, light message lights and collect call accounting records.

 

IP TRUNK REROUTE.  (Series 3000 software).  If the NEC 2000 senses a failure of the IP trunks, it will reroute calls over the public network.

 

ISDN-PRI TRUNK INTERFACE (Optional - requires 1320+ software)  You can add a T-1 card to connect the NEC 2000 to an ISDN PRI T-1 to give you caller ID and DID service, plus outgoing calls on these 23 trunks.

 

ISDN-BRI STATION INTERFACE.  (Optional) (1500 software required).  You can plug in ISDN BRI devices such as video conferencing and LAN to LAN routers.  You can call out on an ISDN PRI and not need dedicated ISDN BRI lines. (Series 1600 software - You can make BRI calls over CCIS for LAN to LAN connections at 128K or use an I-MUX for 384k for LAN to LAN or switched video over CCIS.

 

LAST NUMBER DIALED.  You can redial the last number you dialed. (Series 1500) With display phones, the system will show the last five numbers dialed.  Press # to select the one to dial. 

 

LEAST COST ROUTING.  The system will automatically select the least expensive trunk route available while you are dialing.  Lines such as WATS, FX, and Tie lines can be used.  The system can check 6 digits, including the Area Code and the prefix.  The database we create for you can add or subtract digits as well, to allow use of tie trunks and other carriers for calls to selected cities.

 

LINE LOCKOUT.  This service feature provides for the automatic release of a station if it remains off-hook for a preset period of time.

 

LINK ALARM.  (Optional) We can light a light or sound a warning buzzer when a problem occurs with a T-1 CCIS link.

 

MAINTENANCE ADMINISTRATIVE TERMINAL. The NEC 2000 is programmed using a Windows based PC.  Data is entered into the computer and updated while the system is in operation. In addition, this terminal gives you information on trunk and system usage.  We provide software to the end user for routine changes, such as name display etc.

 

MAINTENANCE PRINTOUT.  The maintenance administrative terminal can print out maintenance data and system management data.  This lets service personnel know of any problem and which circuit board to replace.

 

MAINTENANCE LISTING.  We can provide a print-out of most system data, including extensions in service, hunt groups, call pick-up groups etc.

 

MAINTENANCE SOFTWARE-WINDOWS BASED.  MATWorx Suite of software provided the ability for end-users to do much of the routine changes on an NEC 2000 phone system.

 

MASTER CLOCK.  We can add a clock card to your digital T-1 circuits when the Central Office does not provide this.

 

MEET ME PAGING.  With this feature installed, you can dial up your paging system from any phone.  The person being paged merely dials a code to be connected to the calling party.

 

MEET-ME PAGING - ATTENDANT.  The attendant can dial a paging code, and then connect an incoming call after the paged party answers.

 

MESSAGE CENTER INTERFACE (1200+software).  This feature provides for a direct data link to your voice mail system to turn message lights off and on without using a voice port.  Also, information on calls being forwarded arrives to tell the system which mail box should receive the call.  When you call the voice mail system from your phone, the system knows who you are!  Merely enter your security code to get your messages.

 

MESSAGE REMINDER.  Phone users can leave messages for you on your dterm i multi-line phone.  Just press the message button and the call is returned. Display phones can see who called and when! Non-display phones merely dial a code to ring the phone that left them a message.  Message waiting lights can be utilized on single line phones.  Your voice mail system can even turn your light on and off for you!

 

MESSAGE WAITING.  Dterm i multi-line phones come equipped with a message waiting lamp.  Also, the console or your voice mail system can turn on message waiting lamps.

 

MESSAGE WAITING LAMP - MULTIPLE.  (Requires 1900 software, Release 2). This unique feature allows the use of line key buttons on Dterm phones to flash if a person has a voice mail message.  This is great for users that share a phone or don’t have a dedicated phone.  With 3800 software, the line keys can blink as well as the top corner lamp or not the top corner lamp of the phone.

 

MISCELLANEOUS TRUNK ACCESS.  Access to special trunks, such as FX, Tie, and Paging Trunks can be allowed or denied to various users.

 

MOBILITY ACCESS (3700 Software).  Users can set/cancel Call Forwarding – All Calls and Call Forward Busy from their remote phone.

 

MODEM POOLING.  (Optional).  This equipment provides connection to computers through a set of shared modems hooked up through the phone system.

 

MODEM OVER IP.  With (3400 software) you can do dial up modems over IP trunks (9.6 to 24K).

 

MULTIPLE CONSOLE OPERATION.  Your relief attendant can be called when traffic gets heavy and merely push one button to put a second console on line.

 

MUSIC ON HOLD.  This feature lets caller know they are on hold so they stay on the line.  Built in chime tune is standard, external music on hold requires a trunk port.  You furnish the music, we hook it up!  Yes, multiple companies can share the system, but have their own music on hold source using multiple trunk ports. (3700 software) Up to 8 sources is standard with newest CPU.

 

MUTE KEY.  (1900 software and Dterm i phones).  A mute key can be programmed to turn off the transmitter for the handset or headset.  Also used as a “cough button”.

 

NAME ASSIGNMENT & TENNANT ALLOCATION FOR DID/DNIS NUMBER.  (2200 Series)  Provide unique names for DID and 800 calls coming in over a T-1

 

NAME DISPLAY.  Internal name display shows who’s calling.

 

NIGHT BELL.  We can ring a bell at night that can be answered by dialing a code.

 

NIGHT CONNECTION-FIXED.  We can set up preselected phones or virtual extensions to receive night calls from certain trunk numbers.

 

NIGHT CONNECTION-FLEXIBLE.  Same as above, but the operator can call forward to a different station for different needs.  Night bells are commonly added for convenience.    

 

NIGHT CONNECTION-STATION.  Selected stations can go into night mode by dialing a code.

 

NIGHT MODE.  Night mode can be set by a console or selected dterm phones.

 

NON-BLOCKING.  Unlike many competitive systems, NEC digital systems are non-blocking.  This means that heavy traffic will block calls from completion.  You are limited only by the number of outside trunks.  Internal calls always can get through.

 

NON-DELAY OPERATION.  The switchboard does not have to wait for any calls in progress to answer to go on to another call.

 

NON-PRIVATE EXTENSIONS.  This feature is designed to have your PC with a modem do dialing of a call.  You pick up the call on the appearance button of your phone while the call is going out!

 

OFF HOOK ALARM.  This feature allows a selected station to call the attendant or a pre-determined station by merely staying off-hook.

 

OFF HOOK VOICE ANNOUNCE. (1200 Software). You can receive call announcements through the speaker of your Dterm i digital display speakerphone by adding an APA or APR adapter in your phone.  Not available on Dterm Series E phones.  Use Whisper Page instead.

 

OFF PREMISES EXTENSION.  We can deliver extensions via the phone company to other buildings in other cities.

 

ON-LINE MAINTENANCE.  Telephone equipment maintenance can be done while the system is running.  Circuit boards can be inserted and removed while the system is running.  Program changes can be made without any calls being lost.

 

OPEN APPLICATION INTERFACE.  (Optional) This revolutionary feature provides a connection to an external PC running UNIX.  Several software programs are already available to further enhance the NEC 2000, including dial by name etc.

 

OUTGOING CALLER ID.  (Series 2100)  Calls placed out an ISDN-PRI circuit (even if in another building) will send the called ID (DID number) of the phone making the call.

 

OUTGOING TRUNK QUEUING.  If a particular line is busy, you can signal the phone system to call you back when a WATS line is free, for example.

 

PADLOCK.  (1300+ software) You can dial a code to lock your phone when your are gone to restrict outgoing calls.

 

PAGING ACCESS.  You can dial straight to your paging system through a PBX trunk port.

 

PAGING TRANSFER.  You can place a call on hold, page a third party, then transfer the call to the paged party after they have answered. 

 

PASSING DIAL TONE.  The switchboard can pass outside dial tone to a restricted station to make an outside call.

 

PEG COUNT.  Our Maintenance Terminal can provide a variety of activity counts for both stations and trunks.

 

PERIODIC TIME INDICATION TONE.  You have the option of a tone every three minutes on certain trunks to remind callers that they are using expensive lines.

 

POWER FAILURE TRANSFER.  In case of an extended power failure, calls are transferred to designated single line phones. We include automatic ground start if you have ground start lines. (Otherwise you can't call out with-out using special buttons!)

 

PRIORITY CALL.  You can dial a priority code (up to three different codes) to call the operator ahead of regular calls.

 

PRIORITY QUEUING.  We can set up priority calls (800#) to get answered first in your ACD or UCD group.

 

PRIVACY RELEASE.  Dterm i multi-line phones can be set up for privacy release so others in the department can get into the call.

 

PRIVATE LINES.  Up to 256 private lines can be assigned.  This restricts users to access only their line(s) for outgoing calls.  Incoming calls right straight to one or more phones.

 

PROPRIETARY MULTILINE TERMINAL.  You have a choice of twelve different multi-line phones that can be used the 2000 system.  A new system going in uses the Dterm Series i phones.  A customer upgrading from another NEC system can reuse phones from the Electra Professional, Elite, NEC 1400 or NEC Mark II.

 

PUSH BUTTON CALLING.  Push button phones (tone) are used, and can operate on rotary or touch-tone (R) trunks from your telephone utility.

 

Q-SIG.  (1900 software plus hardware required).  This feature allows a T-1 or E-1 connection to a QSIG network for connection to other external systems.

 

QUEUE SIZE CONTROL.  We can limit the number of calls going into an ACD or UCD group and use a digital announcement trunk to play a message for the callers in queue.  At that point, the calls can wait, or overflow to another group.

 

RADIO PAGING.  We can connect to your two-way radio pagers through a trunk or line port, providing your system can be controlled by touch-tone signals.

 

RELAY CONTROL.  We can designate a button on your dterm multi-line phone to control a distant relay in the building, such as a door lock.

 

REMOTE HOLD.  (Requires 1900 series software, Release 2).  This feature provides a Dterm user the ability to transfer a caller to an extension, and upon hearing ringback tone, press hold.  This places the caller on hold at the remote destination.  The call can be picked up from any phone by via directed call pickup.

 

REMOTE PIM-SURVIVABLE.   We can deploy a remote PIM (cabinet) at a branch office and the phones operate and program just as though they were in the main building.  If the data connection goes down, the system will reset and can operate standalone with some local trunks, if equipped.  With 3600 software, we can upload new software from the main site.  Up to 23 remote PIMS can be installed!

 

REMOTE PIM ROUTING CALLS OVER ISDN WHEN IP NETWORK FAILS.  (3700 Software).  Routes calls over ISDN-PRI or BRI facilities to complete calls on a network outage.

 

REMOTE MAINTENANCE.  A STANDARD FEATURE of this phone system is our ability to dial up your system and make most changes without dispatching a service technician.  Program changes can be made to add features, change codes, or add restrictions.  The NEC 2000 includes a built-in modem so can take advantage of this fast service!  THIS WILL SAVE YOU MONEY ON MOVES AND CHANGES!

 

RESERVE POWER.  The NEC 2000 is already equipped for full battery backup - so we just add 2 or 4 12 volt batteries!  In areas where electricity is not as reliable as you would like, you can add even more battery backup to this system.  We need to know the number of hours that you want your system to operate without power!

 

RESTRICTION FROM OUTGOING CALLS.  You can deny preselected stations the ability to make outside calls. We can allow certain calls to still go through, such as 911!

 

RETURN SCHEDULE MESSAGE.  If you're going to leave, set the time you will return on your phone.  Dterm i multi-line phones will see the message when they try to call you!

 

RINGING LINE PICKUP. Dterm i multi-line phones can be set up so that the line ringing is selected as you pick up the handset.

 

ROUTE ADVANCE.  If the trunk group you select is busy, the system will automatically advance to a different compatible trunk group.

 

SAVE AND REPEAT.  Your dterm i phone can save a number for later redialing - even an internal incoming call!

 

SECONDARY DELAY ANNOUNCEMENT.  We can set up a secondary delay announcement for calls coming into ACD or UCD groups with the optional digital announcement trunk card.

 

SECURITY ALARM.  You can alert the console that a door contact just opened.

 

SERIAL CALL.  An incoming caller can indicate that he/she desires to talk to several people in your company, so that when the first party hangs up, the call goes back to the switchboard.

 

SILENT MONITOR.  You can monitor an agent or attendant.  Series 3500 allows you to stay on the phone even if they hang up etc.

 

SINGLE DIGIT STATION CALLING.  This service feature allows the assignment of single digits for station numbers on a limited basis.  This is popular in hotels, Room Service, dial 5, or to access common numbers, such as voice mail access.

 

SINGLE DIGIT FEATURE CODE.  We can set up popular features to be used with a single digit, such as call pick-up or call hold.

 

SOFT KEYS.  (Series 1700 software) With the Dterm Series E or i phones, you can program many features using the softkeys and a display phone.

 

SOFTWARE LINE APPEARANCE.  You can have additional extension numbers on your multiline phones that do not require and hardware.  Use for overflow, boss-secretary, or other.

  

SPECIAL DIAL TONE.  We provide a unique tone to indicate when you are activating a service feature.

 

SPEED CALLING - SYSTEM.  You can program in frequently called numbers in the system for easy access by any phone.  You can call hundreds of your closest friends.

 

SPEED CALLING - STATION.  We can assign speed calling on a per station basis, up to 100 numbers per phone with a maximum of 4200 numbers.  (Series 1600 - additional 8000 memory buffers for One Touch Keys.

 

SPEED CALLING - GROUP.  We can assign speed calling (4200 numbers) that can by shared by a department, up to 100 per department.

 

SPLIT CALL FORWARDING (Requires Series 1200 Software).  With this feature, you can forward internal calls to voice mail and external calls go to a secretary.

 

SPLITTING.  The operator can talk to two parties, one at a time, to locate an individual or to see if the call can be taken.

 

STACK DIALING.  With a display phone, the system remembers the last five calls that you made.  Press the Stack button to see them on the screen, then select the number you want to return!

 

STATION CONTROLLED CONFERENCE.  You can set up your own conference calls.  As an option, we can install a four or eight party conference system.

 

STATION HUNTING - CIRCULAR.  This feature permits a call to be processed automatically through a hunt group of busy extensions.  You can also overflow to another hunt group if all phones are busy.

 

STATION HUNTING - SECRETARIAL.  This feature permits one station number to be hunted to when all other stations in a group are busy.

 

STATION HUNTING - TERMINAL.  This hunt feature provides a busy signal when a phone is busy, unless the first station in the group was called. In that case, the calls go into the hunting sequence.
