Upgrading software on an IMX in the same Version R9, but different Revision (R9.02 to R9.05).  This adds 8400 software to give VOIP features once you purchase the floppy disks from NEC.

FIRST, back up all data, including call forwarding, speed dialing, name display etc.

You will need at least 6 floppy disks.

A.  Back up current memory to the hard drive for all parameters in use.

B.  Back up from hard drive to floppy for Main Memory, speed dialing, names, call forwarding etc.

If this fails, do not proceed.

Verify switches on Alarm Panel:

System Data Non Load

Program Data Non Load

1.  Power Down CPU

2.  Turn switch on CPU to “C”

3.  Power back up. The bar in the LED should rotate indicating that the CPU is off line

4.  Turn switch to 3 (COPY)

DO NOT USE DISK 1 = IT WILL FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE

DO NOT USE THE CONFIG DISK.  AN IPX CONFIG DISK LOADED IN AN IMX WILL GIVE YOU ALL RED LIGHTS AND NO DIAL TONE.

5.  Insert Disk 2, cycle Make Busy switch on CPU and continue of rest of disks, including one in the envelope (configuration). Do not remove a floppy while it is being copied.  You will have to start all over again. CPU should say C when copying files. Goes around in a circle when idle.

6.  Turn switch to 2 (ON LINE) when finished.

7.  POWER DOWN the system, including the PIM’s. This loads the program in all applicable cards.

8.  Turn power up from bottom up (CPU and PIM’s)

9.  Use DISS Command to display the Software Version (should show the new revision)

10.  Release all alarms.
