NEC Dealers can begin taking advantage of progress being made to bring NEC Customer Service Department on line via the Web. Getting set up in your office is a bit tricky, but once you're up and running, it's a convenient way to:
a. Check on the status of an order
b. Verify account balance in coop account
c. Check current company discount level status.

Getting started:
FIRST, Print this page so you have it in front of you:
If you already have a certificate View Existing Certificates. Then call NEC at numbers below
1. First your PC (and any PC in the office that you want to use for this) must get a unique security certificate downloaded into your hard drive..
2. Which web browser do you use? Netscape or MS Explorer? Pick one for on each PC. Simpler to do the same one for each PC you want to set up.
3. Log onto the web to https://cert.nec.com
The screens will be different depending on the browser you are using.
Netscape:
Click on Request a Personal Certificate. (Left side of screen)
Fill out the information. If you have done this previously, go to the bottom and view existing certificates.
In the box for comments, list the login name and password you would like to use.
Click on submit and follow directions. If you complete correctly, print the screen that has your unique ID number.
Call NEC and give them this unique number. Call 800-752-6275 and ask for Angel.
Internet Explorer:
Fill out all of the spaces and when finished click on the Submit Request button at the bottom of the page. In the box for comments, list the login name and password you would like to use.

After you get your serial number, go to https://cert.nec.com/index-netscape.html
You are now in the NETSCAPE CERTIFICATE SERVER. On the left side of the screen under Public Menu, click on List Certificates.
On the next screen in the areas called "Lowest serial number to display, and Highest number to display", type the serial number given to you and click on Run Query
On the next screen, click on the Detail button.
The last screen will be Certificate Content. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Import Certificate.
You can now to go https://www.cpe.nec.com and use the user name and password given to you to access InProvide. In the process of signing in the first time, you will get some warning messages that indicate that the site is not legitimate. Ignore these warnings. There are two logins. One will get you onto the secure server and the other will get you into the InProvide application.
Begin use: After your certificate is installed, go to https://www.cpe.nec.com
HINT. Bookmark the www.cpe.nec.com web site so you can return easily
