All,

Some of you may already know this but for the rest of you this will be some good info.

When doing digit conversion a lot of times you get a block of DID’s that during DAY mode and NIGHT mode they go to the same place and then you get a few stragglers that route different between DAY and NIGHT.  What I have seen the tech’s doing so far is a big waste of time they are re-entering all of the DID’s for DAY and NIGHT and you do not need to do this because you can overlap the DID translation tables 1 ~ 2000.  There are a few ways to do this and one of them is using the second area in 22-10-01 and the other way would be to use all the 1st area and then truly overlap.  Below is an example of using the second area (I think this is easier).

Common DID’s in DAY and NIGHT mode:

1001 points to 101

1002 points to 102

1003 points to 103

Not Common DID’s

1999 points to 101 in the DAY mode

1999 points to 103 in the NIGHT mode

MB 22-10-01

DID translation table area 1:        1st starting address is 1, 1st ending address is 200

2nd starting address is 500, 2nd ending address is 550

DID translation table area 2:        1st starting address is 1, 1st ending address is 200

2nd starting address is 551, 2nd ending address is 600.

Go to the current trunk group that your DID’s are in.

In DAY mode assign it to look at Translation Table area 1

In NIGHT mode assign it to look at Translation Table area 2.

22-11-XX

Now when assigning your DID’s you enter the common ones in using entries 1 ~ 200.  The first 1999 will start at 500 and the second 1999 will start at 551.  As you can see this will save you a lot of time and entries.

If you do not know what I am talking about do not come and ask me without first reading the manual and second trying to set it up.  If you read through the book and gave it a shot and it does not work that is fine I will be glad to help you and show you what you did or did not do.

Thanks,

Paul
