IPK II – InMail – Timing Issue with Auto Attendant

 

Problem:  After a routing box of the In-Mail plays its greeting there is a 1 to 2 second pause until you hear "I'll transfer your call now". During that time there is nothing but silence and some people hang up.

 

Resolution:  it sounds like they are just letting it time out, as opposed to dialing digits, so I would adjust the timer in 47-08-03.  At default the "dialing command time out" is set to 5 seconds.  The In-Mail will wait this long after playing the message for that routing box before performing the time out option set in that routing boxes dial table.  If they are using a Master Mailbox then it is set in 47-04-03 but the defaults and operation are the same.
