Minutes of Conference Call 2-06-07

President Barry Simons called the meeting to order at 08:10 PST.

Bob Pentico delivered a brief synopsis of his meeting with Paul Hashman and Walter Niedhammer on Monday afternoon (2/6/07). Items covered in the meeting were:

• Tech Support Hold Times
• Issues with known bugs not being passed to the field in a timely manner
• Software upgrades as the rote fix for any issues if the system was not on the latest version.
• Better methods to distribute software via the NTAC web site.
• Better organization within both the files are and knowledge base section.
• Actually entering more solutions from tech support tickets into the knowledge base. Walter and Paul asked if we really wanted these items to go out to the knowledge and my response was “if it provides valuable knowledge and stops a call to NTAC and speeds problem resolution then absolutely”.

“Note” this item was not brought up in the discussion but I felt it important to pass on.

There was discussion about the IPK II online course and it’s absurdity with talking about the total number of programs required to activate certain functions (for example SMDR takes like 31 programs). I commented that with WEB PRO / PC PRO why can’t we have one page that covers SMDR and call it good. The response I received was that they had considered that but they felt that the bulk of technicians did not use their PC’s to program these systems and they had to cover all the memory blocks because of that. I express to them that that was, in today’s world, the wrong thinking and that the technician who wishes to know those memory blocks could go look them up.

Barry asked for comments and there were none.

The First Quarter meeting with NEC was decided to be held in Dallas and is currently scheduled for travel and evening meeting on the 14^th, meeting with NEC on the 15^th and the morning of the 16^th and travel after noon on the 16^th.

All agenda items must be brought to the board by end of business Friday February 16^th.

The next conference call to finalize the agenda is at 11 AM EST, 10 CST, 8 PST on Monday February 19^th.
