• Alternate Channels Issues
• Controlling out of territory sales. Once the offending dealer is identified NEC claims nothing can be done unless WE provide serial numbers off of the equipment sold. Doug committed to looking into this issue
• NECSI Board & Membership Issues
• Membership Expansion – Resellers, Distributors, UBSD
• The board voted to revise the duties of the Vice President officer position to assume responsibility for membership retention & expansion.
• Proposal to Revise bylaws to explicitly exclude Wholesale Distributors form NECSI Membership
• UBSD & VAR Membership
• The board proposes to offer membership to NEC VAR Dealers & USBD Dealers. NECSI email this proposal to the body at large for approval.
• Write an article for the January x-talk explaining the intended additions and changes to the bylaws regarding membership.
• NEC has committed to providing a written description of Channels that can be published in the January Crosstalk.
• Send out the vote to the body at large in February so any changes can be announced at the Advantage/Meeting

• LEAD Generation Program
• “Close the Deal” NEC Updates to the program
• Script change mid September
• New expanded source lists
• Expanded rejection mod implemented
• An online dispute process online by 11/01/02
• A one month invoice moratorium to allow time to true up leads caps

• NEC is revising the program more details to follow.
• Mark Duckworth and Gordon Maccani will work directly with NEC to assist in putting this program together.
• Complaints about the MATWorX Program
• NEC advised that they are refocusing the Administration programs
• MATWorX is geared toward technicians an is undergoing revisions
• Sheldon, Maureen and Sean volunteered to trial any Beta versions.
• Dterm Assistant is geared toward User Administration
• Voice Mail issues
• VM Lockups have been fixed on the Elitemail, Electramail & NEAXMail products
• Patches are available now
• The board asked NEC to look into what can be done regarding the hacking of Voice Mail systems
• Smartforce
• NEC had Smartforce come in and present the online training program to the board for feedback.
