• Alternate Channels Issues –
• NEC BNS marketing Service Contract to Associate base
• NEC purchased the list, there is no commingling of customer information within NEC
• NEC BNS agreed to terminate the program immediately effective July 26, 2002
• NECSI requested Mr. Takashima publish a "Rules of Engagement" document for the BNS channel.
• Channel Management – Doug Wonson : In an effort to eliminate or minimize conflict NEC has established a central manager to overview all channels.
• BNS Strategic Partnerships - Mr. Tom Burger of NEC BNS has express a desire to strike strategic partnering relationships with the NEC Associate channel partners.
• NECSI Board & Membership Issues
• Membership Expansion – Resellers, Distributors, UBSD
• The board proposes to offer membership to NEC VAR Dealers & USBD Dealers. NECSI email this proposal to the body at large for approval.
• The board modified the requirements for membership to explicitly exclude the ‘NEC Wholesale Distribution’ channel.
• The board ratified expanded qualifications for running for a seat on the NECSI board to include. Vote 9 – Aye, 0 – Nay, 1 - Absent
• Minimum of $250,000 NEC product purchases per annum.
• LEAD Generation Program
• Associate questions
• What happens if I don’t receive my quota of purchased leads in a given months?
• The lead program will true up the quantity of lead you purchased. They will continue providing leads until you receive you full quota.
• What happens to the lead if I reject it?
• It goes to the next dealer in the program or to the Regional Account Rep if there are no other dealers in the program.
• Elections
• We have three seats opening at the end of this year. Please submit your nominees now. The election will be held before the next meeting in October. Those board members vacating seats are

• Chris Jackson (appointee, eligible for re-election)

• Mark Duckworth and Gordon Maconi will work directly with NEC to assist in putting this program together.
