Directors
January 17, 2003
Members present were: Sheldon Allen, Steve Autor, Sean
Campbell, Garry Laxdal, Gordon Maccani, Ed Mikesell, Greg Osler, Lawrence Sosna
Treasurer’s report was passed out. It was noted that we overspent income last
year by $3070. A balance of $37,235
remains as of Dec. 31, 2002
Discussion ensued about lowering the per diem for Dealer
Council Meeting. Greg moved that we
retain the $100 per diem. Discussion to
lower the amount to $50. Motion died
for a lack of a second. Gordon asked
Sean to review the current policy (#4) and that he make a suggestion and we
vote on it via email before the next meeting.
NEC has announced that Advantage meeting for dealers has
been cancelled. The NECSI board had
agreed to this at the last meeting. NEC is investing funds in web based
broadcast hardware and software to get information quicker and faster via the
web.
Steve moved to change from 4 meeting per year to 3
meetings per year, at least until we see how membership signups go. Motion passed. Discussion was to have a meeting in St. Louis on May 1 and one in
LA on Sept. 18. Gordon later suggested
we have the second meeting in Reno along with the NEAX users group so that we
can meet with their board.
Steve moved approval of minutes of the last meeting. Motion approved.
Steve moved and Sheldon seconded that we revise the
current by-laws to include electronic voting on issues. Motion passed.
Some discussion on possible savings by publishing the
newsletter electronically. Steve
pointed out that we typically don’t have email addresses in our database for
non-members. Last newsletter cost $985
out of pocket.
Gordon asked that all the board members get actively
involved in the Council. The following
appointments were made:

products – Sean Campbell
NEC User Group – Gordon Macanni
